Marivan County is located in the west of the province and Marivan city is located 100 km northwest of Sanandaj. The average annual rainfall of Marivan is more than 800 mm per year and therefore it is considered the rainiest region in the province. Marivan is the most important region of Kurdistan province in terms of business and tourism, and Zaribarke lake is located 2 kilometers west of this city and is considered as the most important tourist attraction of the province. Zaribar Lake

 Zaribar is one of the largest natural springs in the world. The date of its creation is related to the end of the second geological period or the last period of formation of the Zagros mountains. This lake has given life and prosperity to the green Marivan for thousands of years and has always watched the fate of the people of this region, and because it has shared their joys and sorrows, it has preserved a part of the people's identity in its heart as a valuable heritage. For this reason, Zaribar has played a great role in our literature and folklore and has been a source for the creation of advice, proverbs, songs, verses, legends, etc.

Among the many attractions of Marivan , Zaribar lake has a special beauty. Zaribar Lake, or rather Zaribar Freshwater Lagoon, is the largest self-boiling fresh water spring in the world

Zaribar Lake has beautiful and unique effects in every four seasons and presents suitable conditions for boating, fishing, hunting and swimming for the native residents of the region and tourists. The water of this lake is supplied from spontaneous springs in the lake bed. And it is surrounded by mountains covered with forest.

  One of the wonders of Zaribar is the moving islands that exist there.

In February 2013, at the same time as World lakes Day, Zaribar's birdwatching team started its activities in a specialized way according to the available capacity in the city. The previous statistics, which recorded the number of Zaribar birds from 40 to 70 species, increased to 165 species, and with other species outside the lake, about 250 species can be seen in Marivan.

Imam's Castle and Mount (Roof of the City)

Imam Castle is located on Mount Imam at an altitude of 1600 meters, in the south of Marivan. The name of the mountain "Imam" is taken from the name of Sheikh Ahmad bin Al-Anbar Al-Nu'aimi al-Hasani, who was appointed as the imam of the congregation of "Mezghote Surah" by Amir Hamza Baban in the 8th century of Hijri.

  On the first peak of the mountain of the Qala cemetery, the remains of Mezghote Suvareh and the ruins of the houses of the Qala residents are left. For a long time, Mezghote Suvereh has been one of the scientific centers, Dar al-Alam of the Kurdistan region and the breeding ground of the famous religious scholars of the region.

The second peak is known as Shahneshin Castle. From one of the stones of this peak, a terrace and Irani have been carved, which was a place of rest during peace and a good shelter for Umrah during war. From this terrace you can see a beautiful and pleasant view of Marivan plain and Zaribar lake. Just below the Shahneshin terrace, the remains of the castle's water storage can be seen, which contains the water needed by the castle's inhabitants. The water of this reservoir is supplied either by rainwater or by the people of the castle. The highest peak of Mount Imam is the prison castle, which was the place where prisoners and captives were kept. What is clear is that this place was chosen as a prison because of its height, so that it is less possible to escape from it. This castle was prosperous until 1066 A.H., but in that year it was destroyed along with the castles of Zalam, Hassan Abad and Palangan by the order of "Suleiman Khan", the governor of Ardakan, who was an ally of "Shah Safi", and the people living there were also destroyed. They were moved.

City of storks (dareTfe village)

One of the wonderful attractions for nature lovers is located in dare tfe village, which hosts thousands of domestic and foreign tourists.

Years ago, a pair of storks built a nest on the electricity poles of this village and one of them died due to electric shock. After this incident, the people of the village decided to make poles for them at their own expense. of any kind of danger for these storks.

By doing this, the trust of the storks was won, and now more than 10 pairs of storks have built nests on these poles and the edge of the village.

In fact, this is a peaceful relationship between man and nature, which we have not said much about its beauty.

Gavileh waterfall

Guileh waterfall is one of the scenic areas of Marivan city, which is located on the "Marivan-Saqez" route, and is considered one of the most beautiful and scenic places in the region in the spring season. This waterfall is located near the village of the same name. This waterfall is one of the linear waterfalls that has the highest flow in spring. The physiographic conditions of the region are such that all the water in the upstream mountain has gathered and created this waterfall as a beautiful geomorphological phenomenon.

 Dasht Belu is located 15 kilometers from Marivan city. The appropriate vegetation cover of this plain and Guwara water springs as well as the surrounding forests accommodate a large number of residents of the city and surrounding villages. People spend hours in the lap of the beautiful and green nature of the plain, especially during the day and on holidays. The lands around this plain were used for rice cultivation in the past.

Garan historical bridge

Garan Bridge is one of the historical and tourist attractions of Marivan city, which is built on a river with the same name.

  This historic bridge is located 10 kilometers northeast of Marivan city . Its construction uses mortar, stone, plaster and brick.

Garan Bridge has two hexagonal spans in the middle of the river and two bases connected to the heights on the sides of the river and has three spans.

This bridge is 42 meters long, 9.5 meters wide and 6 meters high. Since this bridge connected the Marivan-Sanandaj route, it was restored during the governors of Ardalan during the Safavid era, but its historical background dates back to the Qajar period and was used until 1320 AH. Garan Bridge was registered in the list of national works of our country on March 25, 1379, with number 3591.

 Marivan, the world city of handicrafts (Klash)

The klash of Marivan is considered one of the best and most important handicrafts of the province, the upper of this shoe is made of woven cotton thread and the sole is made of compressed fabric, for this reason, the klash is light, soft, flexible and suitable for a mountainous environment. . Kalash was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in September 2016. The Kalash industry has directly created employment for more than 4500 people in Marivan, and by building a handicraft town, more educational and production workshops can be created in the region. Over the years, this industry has been common at home and does not belong to a specific age or gender. Kalash has been able to provide the livelihood of many families in the region for many years. Today, as an honor, Marivan is known globally with the Clash brand.
