Imamzadeh Pir Omar is one of the most sacred places to visit in Sanandaj
Imamzadeh Pir Omar is from the holy burial ground "Seyd Abdul Samad", one of the sons of imam Ali (AS). By visiting the small shrine of this imamzadeh, you can spice up your sightseeing trip in Sanandaj and at the same time enjoy watching its old and beautiful building. The main building of this Imamzadeh was built in 1046 AH, when Suleiman Khan Ardalan ruled the region. Later, in different periods, other parts were added to the main building of Imamzadeh. Currently, the building of Imamzadeh Pir Omar consists of 3 spaces with similar domes. One of these domed spaces is used as a mosque and other parts are dedicated to shrines. Despite many renovations, Imamzadeh Pir Omar building has still preserved its old and traditional texture and this feature has made tourists of all religions and beliefs attracted to it.
